Walk
Information
Planned
Group Guided Walks
A number of circular guided walks open to everyone are scheduled
each year. For more information please have a look at the list of
dates for these walks.
Private Guided Walks
These guided walks are ideal for those who wish to visit parts
of the Lake District that are less well known, but have a charm
of their own. Also, they are suitable for those who do not like
larger groups, and anyone who might be concerned about holding back
a group.
Walks can be organised for individuals, couples, families and other
groups at any time of the year.
For parties of up to four, we can pick up and drop off at your
hotel/guest house/home if it is on the way to the start of a route,
or within 5 miles from Windermere. Larger groups will need to share
or organize transport.
If there is somewhere special you would like to go, or something
special you would like to see or do, please contact
us with your request.

Treasure
Hunts
Why not try something different. Our Treasure Hunts are an entertaining
way to find out a bit more about The Lake District. They can be
either town trails around one of the Lake District villages or towns,
or a low level walk through the Lake District countryside. For more
infomation click here.
General
information
The terrain in the Lake District is generally tougher than in many
parts of the country, and some footpaths can be steep and rocky.
Grading of walks can give some indication of the degree of difficulty,
but some people may find even the easy walks are too much. After
rain some footpaths will become waterlogged, and on steeper ground
paths can be quite slippery, so more care is required. If unsure
about whether a walk would be suitable on a particular day, please
contact us.
Grading
of walks
Easy - generally good paths, no steep climbs or descents. Possibly
some stiles. Not remote.
Moderate - mainly reasonable paths, but some on steeper ground.
Possible small streams to cross. No summits climbed above 2,000
feet (615 metres).
Strenuous - mainly on paths, but some may be steep, rough or stony.
Could climb to summits above 2,000 feet (615 metres).
